Manchester Irish Festival Parade will take place on Sunday 15th March 2009

The Parade will set off at 12 noon sharp from the Irish World Heritage Centre, Queens Rd (A6010)
and then turn left onto Cheetham Hill Rd (A665) and proceed towards Manchester;
passing the Fort Shopping Centre;
passing St Chads Church (the oldest Catholic Church in Manchester)
and the Manchester Evening News Arena,
towards the CIS buildings (at approximately 12.30pm).
It will turn right into Corporation St (A6042)
passing Waxy O’Connors,
the Printworks and Marks and Spencer
into Cross St (A6042)
and then to Albert Square (at approximately 12.45pm)
It will turn left onto Princess St (A34),
after 100m it will turn right around the back of the Town Hall into Lloyd Street.
The parade will marshall up at the entrance to Albert Square and each group will parade/march past the Lord Mayor and VIPs on the podium opposite the Town Hall on Albert Square (approx. 1pm)
The Compere Michael Kearns will announce each group.
The parade will the take the reverse route back to the Irish World Heritage Centre.
The Parade route is approximately 3 miles
It should take around 2 hours
