Oasis Bar sends out SOS to Save Band for splitting up
The internationally famous ‘Oasis Music Bar’ at the Farmers Arms Pub, in Burnage, South Manchester has sent out an SOS to try and save OASIS from splitting up. It has set up a special facebook site dedicated to try and help Liam and Noel patch up their differences to get the band together again after their announced split up. The facebook site is at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=146359719879 and fans are urged to join up and leave their messages of support.
The bar became the focus of worldwide media attention after the announced split up of Oasis. Shortly after Noel Gallagher announced on the Oasis website that he was quitting the world famous band, the BBC were the first media organization to visit the internationally famous bar. Noel claims on the site that he could no longer work with his brother Liam. Noel, the group's lead guitarist and chief songwriter, has recently been involved in a series of rows with front man Liam.
The guitarist said: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.
"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."
The BBC interviewed Lawrence Hennigan the owner of the bar dedicated to the Burnage super group, which is situated just round the corner from the Gallagher’s family home and just yards away from St Bernard’s R.C. church where the Liam & Noel were christened. They asked him how if he was upset about oasis splitting up, he replied “It was very sad to see the end of an era, they put Burnage on the map. I would be more than happy to act as a mediator between the two brothers. I’m sure if we sat them down over a pint of Guinness we could get them to work out their differences.”
“But if that does not work out, I’m sure it will not be the last we have seen of Noel. He would be more than welcome to launch his solo career here.”
The phone has not stopped ringing with reporters and media organizations asking for interviews. We get visitors from all over the world who come to visit the lounge dedicated to the band, which is full of memorabilia”
